It's been at least a couple of years since I got them. I think I just had to switch the ends over from the old struts, which is easy. Yes, they do a great job of keeping the lift gate up and no problems in cold weather. There are a few that went to 225# and, if not mistaken, 250# struts, that actually raised the lift gate higher when open, but they seemed to flex the sheet metal of the body, so I've heard. You have to remember that the rating is for one strut, so you double the lifting force. For example, the stock's are rated at 175#, so if you get the 200#, you are increasing the force by 50 pounds of force. Also remember, the higher the force, the easier it is to lift the gate, but, also the harder it is to lower it, as well. Around 2010, I think the thread pitch changed, so new ball sockets had to be obtained. There were numbers for the glass lifts, as well, in the article. I'll try and find locate the original thread. For my glass, I think I just got new ones from Rockauto and they are doing fine; I don't open the rear glass that much, anyway.
