Thanks, Touchdown! Your truck looks great on those 35s. Bet it's a monster in the mud! What are you considering as far as replacements for the Bilsteins?

Does anyone have any build threads where there are photos of a 5'' Calmini kit being installed? Interested to look at how the rear suspension is lifted,

cheers,

C wrote:Thanks alot for the reply, dcommoncents! I just checked out your previous posts to make sure I didn't miss anything before replying back... Lots of good stuff. Your truck looks great, by the way!

About how many miles do you have on the lift?

Did you do your Airlift 1000 install before or after the lift? Would there be any disadvantage to doing the Airlift install before the Rancho lift? (Not sure if it would make placing the spring spacers more difficult, etc.)

Also, I really like the way you did the L bracket to the body to hold the Airlift valves, and the location you chose, too.

I definitely like the idea of a remote control as well for the same reasons. I read that Rancho discontinued the MyRide, though. Not sure if there are other options out there, though???

Those SPC upper A arms are really sweet. Extra travel and easier alignment- awesome! Not sure if they're in the budget right now, but they sound like a great idea, so I may have to make some more room in the budget, lol. Hadn't been considering anything like that up to this point.
Sorry for the very belated post, and thanks for the nice words! I'll address your comments/questions in turn:

Educated guess, I'm at 8k or so miles on the lift now. No problems at all.

I did the airlift install before the lift. There is no disadvantage aside from creating a little extra work for yourself: you install the airlift, then have to remove it or at least disconnect the airlines (which is actually the biggest PITA of installing/uninstalling them) when you go to install the actual lift later. I liked how they firmed up the stock ride even before I added rancho shocks and spacer.

That's news to me about MyRide; perhaps a bummer, although they might be available used or through dealers.

Looks like you ended up with a pretty nice setup for your lift!

So you just changed shocks and added the spacers? You don't change springs at all ? I haven't done much research yet but that looks like a pretty good deal on lifting the truck up a little. I need new shocks anyway

2008 pathfinder suspension upgrade

Postby Dawsonmed » Thu Mar 30, 2017 2:57 am

Well, i broke down and spent the $1000 and upgraded the suspension to what they should have come with from the factory.
2008 nissan pathfinder se v6
Rancho pre loaded quick lift front coil over shocks
Rancho matching rear shocks
ARB old man emu 2609 rear coils

No more bottoming out, nice lift, great ride, very nice highway handing as well
First pic is the day i bought it stock, second pic is with The suspension upgrade

Model year: 2005 LE

Lift height: 1.75"

Type of lift: Suspension Lift

Brand: Old Man EMU (OME), medium springs and Nitrocharger Sport shocks at all four corners.

How's the ride compared to stock: Ride is slightly more firm. There is less sway around corners with the stiffer springs, in spite of the added height.

How long have you had the lift installed: 1 Day

If you had to do it again would you change anything? No, the OME is perfect. I had a shop install and perform the alignment. Total cost was 504.00 for the installation and alignment.

Problems you ran into: No issues. I did not have the alignment issues, front or rear, as indicated by other users.

What brand/size rims/tires you're using: 17" stock wheels with Bridgestone EVO 2's. 265/70/17. Will change to All Terrains 285/70/17, either Pro Comps or BFG's. I bought the Bridgestone when I was doing a lot of freeway commuting.

Update: After a week of running crappy roads including lots of washboard, washouts, highspeed bumpy freeways I am more than impressed with OME. Good bye Monotubes forever.
