VQ40 cat?

Postby Kestral » Thu Oct 26, 2017 7:49 am

It seems that on this forum as well as several others that deal with Nissan VQ40 DE V6 motors seem to have cat converter issues when the millage gets up there. Not all of them obviously but I read several reports of it. My 2012 Pathfinder is at 65,000 miles are my cats something I should save for figuring I will be needing them soon or should they last past 100,000 miles or more?
Have many of you here had to replace yours?

There really isn't any time or mileage frame that they tend to fail. On my 06, the left bank, front converter was replaced at 84000 miles and the right bank, front converter was replaced at 150.000 miles. On my 08, I have 205,000 miles and all of the converters are original.
