I think I understand that this locks auto-locking hubs into full-time 4-wheel drive which distributes power equally to all 4 wheels, right?

I think I also understand that this mode will kick into "Auto" above a certain speed, right?

If the above are correct:
1. will "Auto" mode be power distribution Front and Rear, or will it be asymmetrical to each wheel?

2. will "Lock" mode be power distribution Front and Rear, or will it be asymmetrical to each wheel?

3. is there anything (mechanical, electronic, other?) which facilitates LSD functionality?

your 2018 doesn't have 'locking hubs'. The CV Shafts are hooked up 100% of the time and spin all the time.

The transfer case decides where the power goes, front or back, and the definitely non-LSD differentials distribute power however they see fit.

The new Pathfinder is a crossover, and not really an offroad vehicle.

So I would think with ESP turned off and diff locked, the wheels would spin like the VW and probably make it as far as the VW. I agree this is no true 4x4 but I think the video didn't have the settings needed for that hill.

Looks like the cvt was causing some issues too.

Would be worth a try though.

Also ,in my experience, an aggressive tire would have probably helped as well.
