Rouge connector

Postby blk01acr » Tue Nov 21, 2017 4:20 pm

While doing some underdash maintenance I have come across a male connector with a purple/white wire. This wire comes from the same harness as the M123 connector that goes into the smart equipment control module. This connector at M123 also has a purple/white wire that goes into it. According to my wiring diagram the Purple/white wire is for the RH headlamp relay.
I have not found a an empty female connector under the dash for this loose male connector. Any thoughts on why this connector is loose and where or find the female connector it goes to?

It may simply not be used on your particular trim or option package, hence not being able to find the other connector that would plug into it. If everything seems to be working as it should, I wouldn't lose sleep over it. It's a fairly common practice among manufacturers to cut down on the number of wiring harnesses they have to make.
