Weird squeaking noise in 4wd

Postby inhenceAY13 » Mon Dec 11, 2017 7:36 pm

I have a 2006 Pathfinder 4.0L 4WD. Just had some snow in Chicago so I was trying out the 4wd system. I started to accelerate and it sounded like a hamster on a wheel. I drive for about 0.5miles and the sound goes away. I only have this problem in 4wd, can someone give me suggestions on what it could be? Thanks in advance

Sounds like a front driveshaft U-joint - does it come from underneath?

Got both front drive shaft u joints replaced and I guess it's gone. They should have really put some fittings on the stock ones so we can grease them up
