R50 front and rear diffs

Postby r50pathcr » Sat Apr 28, 2018 9:29 am

Hey guys,

Can someone help me understand what kind of diffs does the R50 path have (2004). Are they LSD? Open?

Thanks in advance!

The front will be an open diff; the rear could be either. The LSD diffs had a sticker on them from the factory, but whether it's still there after all these years is another issue. You could look up the axle info using the factory service manual. Or, you could jack up the back of the vehicle and put it in neutral. Turn one of the rear wheels forward. If the opposite wheel on the axle also turns forward, then it's an LSD diff. If the opposite wheel turns in the opposite direction, it's an open diff.
