Hello

Postby vogon » Thu Oct 11, 2018 9:11 am

I've had several Pathfinders, starting with a 1987 2 door 4x4. I got it as a tow vehicle for my 240Z SCCA ITS racecar. Then I had 2 Pathfinders in the 1990's but I forgot what years. The first one was a 4 door since we had kids. Then I got a 2005 Pathfinder which alas has died. SO I'm joining this forum to pass on some parts rather than sending them to the dumps. I still have my 240Z street car, original owner, 319,000+ miles, but currently not running but hopefully soon.

It had 240,000 miles on it and the transmission went out - so $6500 fix for a $3500 car. and it had a new transmission and radiator under warranty at 90,000 miles. The original version of the 2005 Pathfinders had coolant going thru the trans (at least that's what they said) and coolant leaked into the trans. I swore not to buy a first year model of any car. But then I got a 2016 Ford Focus RS and as a first year, it had an early recall to replace the head gasket.

I think 150,000 miles on the replacement tranny is not unreasonable :)

The radiator replacement should have been the improved part.
Or are you saying you got SMOD ( fluid mixing via radiator) after the dealer replaced the rad?
Which year did they do the work?
