Engine heat/speed switch

Bit of frost promoted the use of the switch this am.
I thought it would only work in neutral ?
But having forgotten to switch it off found the revs still up sat in 1st at the next set of lights.

Now the plus side is in the cold foot on clutch a nice steady RPM.
But she it stay on in gear?

Any advice welcome...

I've never seen that switch. Must a be a Europe thing.
Is it for a factory engine block heater?

I wish it was for a block heater, but alas it just upps the revs to about 1500 so the oil pump etc can get working. Im led to believe it adjusts the fuel mixture too?
