front wheel bearing replacement

Postby paradigm » Thu Jan 24, 2019 7:15 am

Is the front wheel bearing replacement a simple job, which entails simply bolting on and off for a 2010 4WD LE? Or does it need to be pressed in and out?

I have play in the right front wheel along the vertical axis which I suspect is the wheel bearing.

Also I was going to purchase a WJB bearing from Rock Auto.

My 2006 was not to bad of a job but they can stick a little. No puller or press needed.

It's a wheel bearing hub assembly; the Nissan part is made by Timken. If the hub gets rusted into the steering knuckle, it can be tough to remove. I usually have to beat mine out with a big hammer. Another trouble spot is the ABS harness connector. Dirt can work in there and make it almost impossible to unplug. The good news is that the female connector is part of the new wheel bearing hub assemble. When I can't get the connector apart. A use a small, flat blade screwdriver and diagonal pliers to carefully cut away the female harness connector until I can separate them.
