Hood Mount Spot Lights

Postby Code Pathfinder » Thu Jan 31, 2019 6:13 pm

I was poking around on various Nissan forums the other day and came across this old post on Club Frontier.

Since the Frontier engine bays are very similar to the Pathfinder engine bays, I tried this out .

Here are some pics

The brackets are made from 1/4 steel and are treated so they wont rust. The brackets are designed to hold a CB antenna but are plenty strong to hold the pods in place. I drove down the highway today going 75 and they did not move at all.

I have not wired up the pods yet because im waiting on a couple of parts for my relay board. I will post again once they are wired up and ready to go.

I finished wiring the lights on Saturday!

Here are some photos

I used a rubber grommet and some silicone to waterproof the wires going into the side panel.

The wire goes through the middle of the bracket and snakes its way to my relay board.

The end product

:D

Im hoping I can get some night photos soon.

I will also spray paint the mounting brackets black at another time.

The lights are powered by switches in the cab.

These switches are laser etched 5 prong led switches from amazon.

ill post some pics asap.
