Lift support - rear door - different lengths

Postby r9ball » Wed Feb 13, 2019 10:34 pm

I see 2 options for the rear door lifts. One is around 15" extended, the other is about 19" extended.
Just wondered if anybody has had both sizes or any issues or if both sizes work ok.
Being over 6' tall , I would appreciate it raising a little higher.
Thanks

I replaced the rear liftgate lifts on mine about 2 years ago maybe. Anyhow, it raised it enough to where I can walk underneath it without having to squat down a bit. I'm 5' 11''. I'll look for the part number as soon as I get a chance.

I just had a brain fart,, I realized the longer one is for the door,, the other for the glass.
I have the replacement numbers.
Thanks

I just replaced the door lifters with the 200lb McMaster-Carr lifters. It easily opens at least 2 more inches, and with much more force. $50 delivered for the pair of them. Easy upgrade.

I've had my 200# McMaster-Carr lift struts for several years, now. They still work great, regardless of how cold it gets!
