2008 Pathy AT: connecting flywheel back to transmission

Postby btblount » Mon Apr 01, 2019 6:09 pm

Just completed the VQ40DE engine rebuild and have it placed back in the vehicle. The engine is bolted to the transmission correctly. I still need to connect the flywheel to the mating assembly in the transmission. It takes 4 bolts, all near the outer rim. How do I get the through holes in the flywheel lined up with the 4 tapped holes in the transmission?

Turn the crank clockwise with a socket and ratchet on the crank pulley bolt and/or turn the torque converter until the two hole line up and install torque converter bolt. Leave a little loose until. Then turn the crank until the next set of hole are accessible and install the next torque converter bolt. Once all four bolts are installed, you can tighten each one, turning the crank to access the next bolt, until all four torque converter bolts are tightened.
