RMS leak on a 92 after engine swap

Postby 93pathconquerer » Fri Aug 15, 2008 11:10 am

I am looking at buying a 92 Pathfinder. It has a newer engine that was put in with 45k and now has 60k. The engine was from an auto and when the auto converter was removed there was some some damage to the crank. The Rear main seal has been leaking. I am just wondering If this will be fixable without pulling the engine and replacing the the crankshaft? Could this be as easy as a bad PCV valve?

Definitely not as easy as a pcv valve. That is a big job if the crank was damaged. Basically a rebuild type job. If it's just the rear main seal then it's not as bad but not an easy job either.
