Hi disallow,

I have duratrac's on my 'other' car (2010 F150 supercab). I did a 5,000km road trip with them, and well, they performed flawlessly, very little road noise. Great in the winter (tested last year), and rain, etc.

I don't think she really noticed the noise until we put on the new adventures. However they performed great. I never questioned the ability of the Pathfinder in winter and in muddy conditions.

Terry,

I bought my duratracs at Sears 18 Oct 2011 at 32,333 miles. I ended up buying the adventures at discount tire on 9 Sep 2014 at 84,168. That put me just under 3 years but at 51,835. I knew I needed tires soon and planned to purchase new tires before the snow hit but I had a low air pressure light and when I went out to check them I found a bolt in one of the tires. It was however not the tire that was low.

I tried to keep my airlift for the rear end around 20 PSI. It would change depending on the towing and other stuff I did but for the most part it stayed at 20.

For the PF i just put on a basic tire. But for my Avalanche I just ordered a set of BFG A/T KO2 this is a new production line A/T for them Cant get them till nov 1.

I'm now considering Cooper AT/Ws as well. They have 80000km warranty, and are really highly rated for fuel economy. They weigh 36lbs each.

Only problem is these tires are fairly new and there arent many ratings out there for them yet.

From what I read they are significantly better on ice then the Cooper Discover AT2 that is quite popular around here and everyone I talk to who has the Discovery AT2 says they are one of the best AT tires in snow they have ever had but just ok on ice. This was the main thing addressed with the new Cooper AT/W according to Cooper tire the ice performance is significantly better then the AT2. Buy with confidence.. 😀

Yeah I think we will get the cooper's. They are on sale for for $153 each, so out the door for $800 plus a $70 rebate.

Actually I was referring to the Cooper AT-3 not the AT-2 my bad... I'm sure you knew what I was referring to though.. Lol

Actually I was referring to the Cooper AT-3 not the AT-2 my bad... I'm sure you knew what I was referring to though.. Lol
How did you make out with the tire purchase? Did you go with the Coopers? And what size did you go with?

Went with the Cooper Discoverer ATW in P265/70/16 size.

So far so good! Out the door for $800, still have to file for the $70 rebate.

dangit, I just checked the canadian tire website. The price for P265/75/16 is $11 a tire cheaper than the P265/70/16. Could have saved another $50!

Oh well, its a done deal now.

I went back and forth on tire size on my 2012 (S) Pathy the stock size is 245/75/16 and I was going to go to 265/70/16 but first off they were $20.00 each more and I really wanted the snow bite of the thinner tire. I also came close to getting 265/75/16 but then I would have had to change the spair tire as well. The 265/70/16 would have deffenetly looked better on my Pathy but I'm cheep like you! .. Lol.. Keep us posted on how them new Coopers do in the snow and ice. I wound up with Mastercrat Courser AXT tires made by Cooper. So far I'm impressed with the ride, handling, and how quiet they are. We shal see how they are in the white stuff?

I know this is an old thread, but was curious to know how the Cooper's worked out, especially in the winter? As well, I know stock is 245/75/16, I assume there is no rubbing etc by goign with the 265/7016's?

My Open Country's are completely done, I was able to limp through the summer but now have to find some tread.

The cooper's have been flawless. Quiet, great on ice, better on snow, and good in summer on dry and wet. Haven't even started to wear, and I've got about 10k kms on then.

Have been doing plenty of gravel roads too.
