Towing parts?

Postby Kestral » Tue Jul 14, 2015 8:52 pm

Ok so I purchased the towing kit from Nissan and it was confusing in the bag it had the 7 pin wire harness and that was it! I was like what? There were no relays or even the metal holder for the rear that holds the 7 pin harness onto the rear hitch on the car. Anyway after installing the rear 7 pin I plugged it into my 2012 PF with my new brake control and I seem to have all the lights, brakes, etc on my camper. Now for the hard part no one can tell me how I can obtain the steel factory 7 pin holder for the rear of the truck? No one knows if it should have come in the package or not I went to two dealers and they have no idea and one called Nissan and they did not know either? Right now my 7 pin is holding on with zip ties. Anyone have any idea where I can obtain one? I tried several junk yards with no luck. Did yours come with the kit?

Just to add it seems that some late model Pathfinders had the relays for the control of the lights already installed with the truck from the factory? Anyway this is what E-trailer says.

I have an 06, but the bracket, bolts, and 7-pin connector with subharness came all in one bag. I had to buy the brown relay and the subharness for the front (that goes to the controller) separately. I know 05-07 has one kit and 08-10 has another kit, but I'm not sure if the later kit will work on the 11-12 model years or not. Your parts man should be able to contact the regional part rep for assistance if he can't locate the part you need.

You can try the service manager, but you're probably better off having the parts dept. call their regional parts rep. You might also want to try calling Nissan customer service and see if they can help out. Their # is 1-800-NISSAN-1.

Mine came with the bracket. I would ask whoever you bought from to provide it.
