Need 17 inch rim tech papers / certification

Postby labsy » Tue Jul 07, 2015 2:37 pm

Hi,

does anybody have something like original manufacturer's 17 inch rims tech papers with certified wheel tires on it? I need it for proper registration of Googdyear Duratracs 265/70-R17 tires on my vehicle, and guys at tech incpection service are asking for some documents about the rims, where it would be specified that above mentioned tire size officially fits.

***removed my e-mail address***

I would appreciate very much!

My rims are OEM standard for 08 Pathy:
ALY62495 Nissan Pathfinder '08-'12, 6 spoke grey machined alloy wheel.
Size: 17x7.5
Lugs: 6
Bolt Pattern: 6 x 4.5 Inch
Offset: 30mm
Nissan Part Number: 40300ZS17B

Hi,

I am looking for somebody who would have DIEWE or DOTZ wheels (rims) on pathfinder to ask, if he can send me some photos of wheel inside markings. I need those for homologation purposes.

17x8J or 17x8.5J
Offset 30 mm
6x 114,3 mm (6x 4.5 inch) bolt pattern

Wheels DOTZ Hammada or DIEWE Avventura

Looking for at least 3 photos:
- something like high-res photos (not web quality)
- 1 photo of wheel type
- 1 photo of wheel dimensions
- 1 photo of wheel offset

I pay with big thanx if anybody can help :)

You need another tire shop, mate. Anyone tire guy with a measuring tape and the specs on the tire can figure out if it fits or not.

Heh...might be an interesting story, how I managed to partially legalize my larger tires.

Don't know for US, but in EU we need TUV certificate, which binds tire dimension --> to wheels/rims, which are tied to --> specific vehicle. With other words, TUV certificate need to be written for my Pathfinder R51 type, certifying some exact type and dimension of rims/wheels and some exact tire dimensions on them.

I could simply spend US$ 1000 and buy proper wheels, but I did not have those bucks :/
So I asked our inspection service, what they need and they say at least 3-4 photos of TUV-certified wheel with all data on them. So I wrote to wheel manufacturer and asked if they can provide me some photos.

Surprisingly, in about 30 minutes photos were on my e-mail! Incredible!

Now I am driving around with peace of mind, having 265/70-R17 tires officially allowed for my vehicle :)

Where are you from? I lived in the EU for 30 years and have never really been hassled about tire size if I went over or under sized. I got certified easily with just common dimensional charts.
