30" light bar install

Postby pathfinderspot10 » Fri Aug 07, 2015 8:38 am

Does anyone have a light bar installed on their pathfinder? I'm trying to install it on my pathfinder on the front under the grill where there's an opening. Does anyone have pics on how to install it on there? Thanks!

I’ve one to install and will take picss
Just made up the wiring loom and got a ‘led light bar’ switch
off eBay.
The only thing I can see is the middle bar on the bumper
sticks out so I need to think how to sit bar flush back as I want
It above the number plate not at the back

The fixing brackets are to long to fit in the gap, needs some engineering of the brackets to fit.

Ive opened up the light, and drilled three holes, dropped 3 hex bolts in and cut some grommetts in half to act as internal washers. A nut holds the bolt in on the top and will act as a spacer. Silicon the whole light back together and then drill three holes in the bumper. some washers and locking nuts to mount the light.
if it wobbles a bit i shall use a bumper silicon under the lght

Will add some more after fitting.

Its been slow, ive had a shoulder operation, so limited to what i can do.

I pushed a live and 'switch' feed pair of wires through the rubber grommet, dropped the lower dash and have wired a new switch into the dash in one of the spare slots. the relay is all ready to go now, just need to remove the front grill and attach the light when i can.

Ive the MOT mid Aug so going to wait until after with the new laws and all that !!! As my Mot guy is well fussy so dont want to hinder a pass lol

Will post final pictures soon.

I’ve wired up the relay today, and fitted the led bar.
Pics to follow as can’t get them to link from Flickr on my phone.

Stripped off the front grill, cleaned and painted up bare metals,
generally tiedied up behind the grill.

Ive wired the relay off the grey side light wire.
There is a bright led bar blue switch in the cab.
Did this so I can have the light bar on anytime, off road on road.

I was originally worried the small wire would burn out, but it’s only
a pulse for the relay to go live and Led bar is fed from the battery.

The loom has extra output's so another set of lights can be added at some point, roof or spots on the grill?

The LED bar is a 3D 120w Cree, tested it last night and it was briiiiight !
