PD90 Dual Stage Intake Manifold

Postby forgottenzone » Fri Aug 12, 2016 5:55 pm

My (PD90) dual Stage Variable Intake manifold is installed and running on my 08 VK56DE V8 Pathfinder.
Starts right up without any issues.
Idles like Stock.
In Long runner mode just like the Stock VK56 intake manifold she runs and feels stronger.
I am using LS90mm drive b wire Throttle Body, VS 70mm Stock throttle body.
With Variable mode Long and Short Runners. she pulls hard up top all the way to 6,000 rpms. with aftermarket cams she would perform even better.
drove 400mile round trip To Carlisle Truck meet last weekend in PA. no issues at all. I was getting good MPG's even better then with stock intake manifold

Here are pictures of my Prototype and how it looks installed in my Pathfinder.

Thanks guys. I have some videos of start ups. 0to60 and 0to120 mph testing and logging for tuning purposes.
Going to have to put them on youtube so i can post links in here.
Starts with no issues, Idles like stock. Drives with such an ease. Yes throttle more sensitive. But it moves on highway so much easier. Dont know how to explain. You hold the pedal like only 5 to 10% and she moves. Drove 200 miles 1 way few days ago. Wirh my 3.36 gears 70mph cruise control i was getting 19.9mpg's. Usually i would see like 16mpgs in longer trips. If you have 2.94 stock gears, fuel economy should be even better. The power band is different. She makes top tq at 3,700 rpms VS stock around 4,200 rpms which is very good.

I dig custom work. This is probably off topic but what is your hood strut setup? I no longer can use the hood prop due to my fiberglass fenders lol.

forgottenzone, specifically which Volant CAI did you put on your rig? The one for the Titan or Armada? They don't show one that fits the Path on Summit's website.
