vent output issue

got a 2005 se v6. have not used heat or AC for about half a year. but with the latest blitz of cold at north mid west, i turned on the heat and noticed that it is only working on max air output (not max heat setting). all other lower settings simply do not result in any air coming out of the vents. the same goes for AC. the vents have nothing coming out of them unless it set the output to max. could this be something small like a fuse, or is a typical signal than i need something specific replaced? thanks!

looks like this is probably caused by a faulty blower resistor.
