Largest Tire Diameter on Stock Suspension?

Postby AtlantaRuffian » Fri Jan 06, 2017 5:29 pm

I've seen it posted here before, but for the life of me I can't find it again. Anyone know what the largest tire diameter you can have on the stock suspension without rubbing is?

You can pull off a 265/65/R18s (31.6s roughly) without rubbing at stock height and zero modification. That's not a real gain in tire size. If you want 33's, you can do some fender-well mods or lift your R51 and still/maybe do less fender-well work. 33's and PFs mix well. Expect some rubbing.

I ran 285-70-17 (essentially 33s) at stock height, with minor modifications to the fender well. Basically just a heat gun and some pushing

Then, I added a 2" lift and 1" wheel spacers and had no rub issues after that.

I recently went back down to factory height, while still running the 1" wheel spacers and the 285-70-17s... serious rubbing. I had to do a little more modding of the fender well, which actually involved some cutting

I had 285/75/16, 32.6" or. Something like that. Very very slight rub on the fender liner, I didn't even fix it it was so minor.
