No power to the ignition switch

Postby richard » Thu Mar 09, 2017 8:23 pm

So.... I have had my ignition switch torn apart and hanging from my steering column so i can start it with a screw driver for awhile now. Problem is that the last time I drove the vehicle I accidentally shorted out the terminals on the back of the ignition switch to ground. The vehicle died and since then I have not had any voltage to any of the terminals on the switch. I have checked fuses and relays and they seem to be ok... what am i missing? any help is appreciated!

I would expect shorting those wires would burn out one of the fusible link wires at the positive battery cable connection.
