Power Steering Hose

Postby dawgn86 » Mon Mar 27, 2017 12:15 pm

wonder if someone has fixed this before and has a part number.

2006 PF V6 Auto 4.0 The power steering hose that comes from the resevoir and goes under the battery and connects to a metal line is leaking. It's not the one that goes back down toward the pump. It seems to be fastened well on the resevoir, but has fresh PS fluid on it a few times. Doesnt seem to be a hard fix unless connecting to the metal line has a trick.

Thanks

I replaced mine about a year ago. It's power steering return hose, P/N:
49725-EA005. There are two clamps, P/N: 49729-2J00B.
You can access part of it through the right-front wheel well if you pull the liner out of the way a bit. Be careful nut to break the plastic bracket that secures the hose (like I did). The hose is part code "49725MA" on the part diagram link below:

Use red power steering fluid or red automatic transmission fluid, not the clear or amber power steering fluid available in parts stores.
