Noise in the Engine, with no power - Will it break ?

Postby Diamir » Fri Feb 02, 2018 3:00 am

Hello,

I have a big problem.

I have terrible sounds in my engine.

I have bought my Pathfinder 4 months ago. Then the first time i drive the car with weight and on highway, a noise appear, with vibrations and no power. When i release the acceleration pedal, the noise disapear.

But it is not automatic, i can drive sometimes 20 kms on flat road without any problem.

Here is the noise at 90 kms/h.

One time, i try to maintain the pedal to see what happens, and the engine default orange light power on. Then verry few power. I had restarted and all work well again.

here is the noise this morning, engine cold.

For 3 weeks the sound disapear. No problem, driving at 185 kms/h for hours.

But when i come back in France ... The sound come back again.

What can it be please ?

Chain ? EGR Valve ?

I have already change all the filter, oils ...

Best regards,

What year is your Pathfinder and what motor does it have?

I know in the US, there are auto part stores where they will scan the engine codes for free. I'm not sure if there is a similar place in France.

Your other option may be to buy one of these -- https://www.amazon.fr/Autool-diagnostic ... ywords=odb -- and see if you can pull the code and reply back to this message.

The garage who sells me the car propose me to change the chain. I just have to pay the pieces. But i have to make my decision quickely :(

And it is not a Nissan Garage, it is a little one, and i don't think he will do it properly. He have no specific materiel.

Best regards

I have to make a decision because i do not want to break the engine :(

Someone advise me to buy this chain kit :

http://www.prsserwis.pl/pl/p/Rozrzad-po ... 2C5DCI/148

Is it a good one please ? I read that a lot of kit don't last verry long.

I read also that the chain is different in 171 CV and 174 CV engine. But this vendor sell just one type for the two types.

The vendor advise me to change the OIL PUMP too. What to you think about this idea ?

Should i buy some SEALS and change them please ?

Best regards,

Thanks à lot

Before thé chain i have à Last idea.

The denso controle valve or the fuel pump.

Because some times the car makes no noise. A mécanical problem should be constant
