Back Hatch Won't Shut Properly Following Collision

Postby EvilDarkCow » Tue Jul 11, 2017 3:20 pm

I have a '96 Pathfinder with the rear spare tire mount. Back in October, I was rear-ended by a Murano (which was completely destroyed). My spare tire absorbed the hit, and I drove away afterwards with only a scratched bumper. That wasn't all though. I think the collision pushed the latch for the hatch back. When I try to open the hatch, I hear a loud "pop" noise. I have to throw my whole body at it to get it to close properly. Otherwise, the hatch doesn't close fully, and the interior light will remain on. What can I do to fix the latch, or is it possible to fix at all?

Thanks
Matt
