Fuel Pressure Regulator?

Postby tbrusky61 » Thu Jul 13, 2017 7:42 am

Hello! I'm having some intermittent rough starts and I believe it may be fuel related. I want to check the Fuel Pressure Regulator, but I can't seem to find where it is or it's part number through goggle searches. I even called the local dealership, but they weren't any help.

Any information is greatly appreciated.

I was told it's a cam/cad sensor... which doesn't make sense to me... but that's what the dealership says it is...

The fuel pressure regulator is built into the fuel pump module, along with the fuel pump and fuel filter. It is replaced as an assembly. They are pretty reliable and I don't hear of too many failing. Cam position sensors, which are located on the backs of the cylinder heads, are a pretty common failure and will cause drivability and/or no start conditions. It is also a lot cheaper and easier to replace than the fuel pump.
