On the hatch of my pathfinder (2008, LE), the button you press to unlock the car on the outside of the panel (not the one that opens the door) pushed in. The button still works but it feels like the mount the button was sitting in broke.
Anyone know how to take the chrome panel off or access this button? Here's a picture of it.

The chrome piece has threaded studs with nuts on the inside of the rear hatch panel. You have to remove the interior panel from the rear hatch and get it at from the back. _________________ 2006 Pathfinder LE VQ40DE AWD, aftermarket radiator, Airlift 1000's, Bilstein HD rear shocks, Doug Thorley shortie headers and mid-pipes, Magnaflow 12580 muffler, aFe Momentum GT CAI w/ dry filter, XTP plenum spacer, Superchips Flashpaq tuner |

It's not too bad; it's mostly push clips and a few screws as I remember. Easier than most door panels! _________________ 2006 Pathfinder LE VQ40DE AWD, aftermarket radiator, Airlift 1000's, Bilstein HD rear shocks, Doug Thorley shortie headers and mid-pipes, Magnaflow 12580 muffler, aFe Momentum GT CAI w/ dry filter, XTP plenum spacer, Superchips Flashpaq tuner |

So i fixed the button.
If anyone ever has this issue...it's quite simple to pop the back panel off the tailgate.
3 screws: one in the pull handel and two begind the first aid kit - after that, it's plastic clips around the edges and it pops right out.
4 screws to remove the back plate on the outside of the car and that's all...took about 30 mins total. _________________ 2008 Pathfinder LE 4X4 V6 |
