02 LE w/tranny issues ... how best to sell?

Postby adamsn06 » Sun Aug 13, 2017 10:25 am

How do I get the most money from selling my 2002 Pathfinder LE 4X4?

I bought it new 15.5 years ago and am sad to say goodbye, but the required repairs are no longer worth it to me.

The turbine speed sensor leaks transmission fluid. The estimate to fix it is $1500. The transmission guy also told me that likely they will get in there and find that the transmission needs to be replaced. Cost $3100.

Otherwise the vehicle is in good shape. It has 210k miles.

Is it time to sell it to a salvage yard, or is there a chance if I list it on Craigslist somebody will be willing to take on the repairs?

If the rest of the vehicle is in good shape, there's always a chance that someone will buy it...perhaps someone who works on transmissions or is willing to replace it with a used one if the sensor doesn't fix it. Craig's list is an option or advertise on Facebook yard sale sites. You could also try Ebay, but you do pay a fee if it sells.
