What are some good upgrade blubs to the stock headlights

Postby palmerwmd » Mon Nov 06, 2017 7:44 pm

I realize that brighter bulbs will likely result in shorter life.
but I am willing to accept the tradeoff.
Any recommendations?

My bulbs all still work but I would like more light.

Thanks!

:)

I picked up some Philips CrystalVision Ultra bulbs a while back. They're not too bad. I spend a lot of time on the road so the extra distance they provide is appreciated. A bit more distance than stock and a bit whiter.

Unfortunately I don't have a good comparison between stock and the upgrade. I will say though they've been on there for 3 months and they're still going good. ::knock on wood::

I believe I have the Sylvania silver star bulbs, and I'm very pleased with them compared to other pricey bulbs.

Finally received my Phillips extreme visions headlight Bulbs.
Put them on both my Xterra and R51 Pathfinder.
But on the Xterra I took a pic after putting only one to show the difference on the forum.

They claim 100% more light than "normal" Halogen replacement Bulbs (Must get the X-treme Vision bulbs for this.. other versions the "Ultra" and blue eons do not give as much)

But good vision at night.. especially when tired or in a high threat bug out but you are forced to drive at night anyway..)

Not everyone can afford (or wants) Xenon conversions.

next best thing the brightest replacement bulbs out there.
Sold in pairs.

www.tirerack.com/lighting/detail.jsp?ID ... nd=Philips
these are by far the best reviewed ones out there.

Sylvania makes a similar product but it has terrible reviews for longevity of its highest performance version and a guy I know from Industry says these Phillips really are the best and these only cost me like 2 dollars extra over the equivalent Silverstars.

No brainer
So here is the pic.. Guess which side is the new Phillips X-Treme Vision

PS:
Just came back from a quick (22 miles) night time drive with these new upgraded Bulbs.
Definitely noticeable more light and can see things better now.
Makes nighttime driving more comfortable for me.
The "100% more light" claim is believable to me based on today's subjective experience.
YMMV. :D

Looks good. I'm happy with my Philips bulbs as well. The light difference is well worth the cost. Whenever I do my 300ish mile drive to visit my parents the extra light on the highway is definitely appreciated.

I've had the Crystal Vision Ultra for about a year now. So far so good.
