Replacing stock stereo in 2012 S model

Postby TNhunter » Mon Dec 11, 2017 7:25 am

I just bought a Pioneer AVH-1330NEX and will be buying the wiring harness adapter, antenna adapter, and dash install kit.

I've found conflicting info as to which wiring harness I will need:

One site I found says there are two different wiring harnesses for the 2012 Pathfinder:

Metra 70-7550 for the S model
Metra 70-7552 for the LE, SV models

That same site says there are two different antenna adapters:

Metra 40-NI10 or Metra 40-NI20 for the S model
Metra 40-NI12 for the LE, SV models

The only thing I can find for the double din dash kit is:

Ai NDK730

Also - I'm searching for a usb extension port that will fit in place of one of the switch hole covers in the center console of my dash. Any ideas on one that will fit those holes?

Anyone done the S model upgrade on their stereo have any advice as to which part numbers I need to buy?

After watching a youtube video of someone removing the stock radio from an Xterra that appears to be the identical radio I just ordered the following:

Metra 70-7552
Metra 40-NI12

I also ordered this trim kit:

Ai NDK730

I'll comment later if these are the correct harnesses.

Did your unit have the bose or non-bose stock unit?

Non-Bose

And the harnesses I bought were the correct ones.

Metra 70-7552
Metra 40-NI12

Hey TNhunter,

Did you lose any display functionality inherit to the Nissan using the Pioneer? Like, do you get readouts for gas mileage? Tire inflation? etc?

Does the HVAC work properly still? Did you have to change out back-up cameras?

I hate hate HATE the radio system in the Pathy S and want to remove it desperately.

I really would like to know this too.

I need to install an aftermarket stereo that allows me to play mp3s easily via USB, and sounds better. My bose subwoofer is blown and now I wanna rip the entire thing out, but I still wanna keep the HVAC functionality and rear backup camera.
