2005 Super cold transmission slipping

Postby disallow » Wed Dec 27, 2017 4:59 pm

So after sitting for about 8 hours in - 30C, my truck strayed, and I let it warm up about 2 minutes. Reversed out of my parking stall no problem, but then while moving forward the transmission started slipping.

Put in reverse, and reverse was still working. Tried dropping into 2nd, no love.

Put it into reverse and let it sit against the brake for a minute or two. Put in drive and it seemed ok.

Am thinking either low or old trans fluid, as well as leaky seals. Was going to do a drain and fill. It's been about 2 years...

Will check when I find somewhere warm to tinker.
