Purchased pathfinder couple of queries

Postby Aaronhplumbing » Sun Dec 31, 2017 4:06 am

Hi everyone, new here, couple of weeks ago I bought myself 2006 pathfinder adventura with 110k on the clock, whilst getting used to the truck I've noticed a noise which is really starting to bug me, the best way I can describe it is a ticking noise, you can't really here it whilst idling but as soon as you pull away it starts, it's louder when the engine is cold and you can only really hear it when accelerating, pretty much disappears when sticking to the same speed, when the car warms up the ticking gets quiter but you can still hear it when accelerating, anyone have this or know what it could be? Thanks in advance!
Aaron

Is that with a 2.5L diesel engine or a gas engine?

We don't have the diesel over here in the US, but some of the problems I've heard of regarding noise in the 2.5L diesel include noisy fuel injectors, stretched timing chains and bad rod bearings. I would get it checked out by a professional familiar with these engines soon!
