09 LE Rear AC only blows on HIGH

Postby 904Pathfinder » Thu Mar 15, 2018 1:40 pm

Hey all!

I have an 09 that has a rear AC system...

Currently it only blows on high and will not shut off

Is there a particular fuse that can be pulled to shut it off until I can get around to fixing the bigger issue?

If so, which fuse might that be? I have looked but with no luck.

Thanks in advance!

Sounds the rear blower motor amp went bad and is in fail-safe mode. You can get them at Rockauto.com for around $30 (Beck~Arnley # 2040097). You have to pull the passenger side, rear side interior panel to access the blower housing and you have just enough room to R&R the part. There should be a rear blower motor relay located in the engine compartment that you can remove to get the fan to stop blowing.

that's funny...my rear blower was stuck on high yesterday & wouldn't respond to the front or rear controls. I shut the engine off and the controls were working just fine after re-starting the engine. it never did that before.

Yeah, they can get a little erratic when the blower amp starts to fail. Some of it may be due to overheating as I've noticed they use a bigger heat sink on the amp now compared to the original part.
