Anyone change a timing belt?

Postby Micallen » Mon Apr 16, 2018 12:40 pm

I have a 2003 V6 with 144K miles. No idea if the timing belt has ever been changed. Anyone changed their own timing belt? Any pointers?

The last year for a timing belt in the R50 Pathfinder was 2000, which had the VG33E engine. In 2001, they switched to the VQ35DE, which has three timing chains. There is no service interval for them and under normal circumstances, shouldn't need to be replaced.

This thread just improved my evening a lot. I have a 2004 with 136k, and when I took it to get new tires today, another customer told me about how she had a Pathy but the TB broke and killed the engine. Never thought to ask her what year, just began to quietly panic.
