O2 sensor question.

Postby Pathfindork » Thu Apr 19, 2018 11:26 am

Need to replace the O2 Sensor 2 (Rear), Bank 1.

Is that the Right Downstream?
Anyone have the Bosch part number?

Bank 1 is the right side of the vehicle..downstream. Without knowing what year you have, I can't tell you the Bosch # because they changed engines in 2001. Personally, I've had so-so luck with Bosch sensors in Asian makes. You are better off sticking with the OE part, NTK, or with Denso. Rockauto.com has pretty good prices on oxygen sensors.

Bosch # 13650, about $68 at Rockauto.com. Meanwhile, you can get the OE part, NTK # 24573, for $50. Makes more sense to go with the NTK!

Thanks, that's the part I got. I'm going to use the Bosch since I have it and am doing the repair tomorrow but will consider the other brand if the other ones act up.

Sensor is swapped. One little thing we did was tie a string to the connector of the old one before disconnecting. Made it easy to pull the new connector back up through the mess of stuff down there; kept everything routed the same.

What I would do is cut the harness of the old sensor near the sensor, itself, and tie the old sensor harness to the new sensor harness, near the connector, and use that to pull up the new sensor's harness "through the mess," as you describe. Some basic idea, more or less, but works in case you don't have a string handy.
