I got a new set of tires today! (Pathfinder Sport SAT tires)

Postby porksoda » Sun Jun 08, 2014 9:40 am

I bit the bullet and purchased a set of the 265-75-16 P rated. So far they are a world of difference from my Goodyear duratrac tires. These tires are extremely smooth riding and very quite. Also they say the name of my SUV on them which is a cool little plus. My local Discounttire knocked it out in about 45 mins. Also total price came out to $550 installed which included the extended warranty.

Also I did a lot of research on these tires before the purchases. These tires are actually just rebadged for Discounttire. The are just rebadged Kumho KL61's.
Also they are rated at 60,000 mile warranty.
I'll keep everyone up to date with my experience on these tires.

They look good. Keep us posted on their quality, noise, wear, grip etc.

The Kumho KL61 is an "on/off road all terrain". They certainly look like identical tread patterns.

I asked a rep from discount tire and they told me this "The Pathfinder Sport S A/T is a semi-aggressive all-terrain model".

Hope that helps.

any update on these?
I may cross the border and buy a set for the price.
(I'm in Canada. However the dollar sucks right now so might not be worth it. but these are still cheaper than anything up here.)

I like the serendipity of finding tires with the same name as your vehicle. When I was in high school I had a 1974 Pontiac Grand Am. Found a set of Grand Am Superwide GTs for it. 60s on back, 70s on front.

Update:

These tires are holding up very well. We have put about 6000 miles on them and they still look new. They ride very smooth also. I was afraid of road noise but these tires don't have a problem with that. I did get an alignment as soon as I installed them to make sure to prevent any premature wear. Overall I would recommend these tires to anyone.

Just a quick review:

I am very pleased with these tires so far. I have had them on for almost 2 years now with no problems. They are very quiet and smooth riding. They have done great in the past winters with lots of snow and ice. I honestly don't go mudding but once I did accidentally drive through a extremely muddy alley without getting stuck. lol.

I would recommend these to anyone looking for a great inexpensive tire.
