Ive ordered the gearbox one, should be here in a couple of days. Was £52 with tax.

Ive not noticed any vehicle power loss as some posters seem to say about in 3rd mainly ? Just the flickering cruise light when pressure put on the stick, and the fact the engine heater switch works in all gears until again pressure on the stick.

Ive a local garage who will fit as they have a ramp if i cant get under. The weathers supposed to be to wet for a week to be crawling underneath!

Got under the gearbox, had to remove the bottom plate to see up and under.

Trying to get my sausage hands up to remove would have been a disaster,
So decided to remove the lower dash, under the gearstick brackets and remove the rubbers and go in via the tunnel.

19mm spanner to loosen off the switch and spun off the threads with fingers.
Got back under to disconnect wires, and refitted in reverse, reconnecting new wires last so they didnt twist.

My old switch was wet, full of water, so loads of silicone spray over wires and back of switch to seal up for a bit.

Engine feels smoother, Cruise now sets and works, engine heater switch cuts out when placed in gear !!!

So worth doing the job.
