roof rack questions

Hi all.

I have a 97 Path XE with no factory roof rack installed. It has some kind of track on each side of the roof and both sides are covered with some type of thin, aluminum molding.

I pulled up some of the molding and I can't tell what's going on underneath. the moulding pinches down upon a square shaped track that runs the length of the roof. Also there are 3 anchor points on each side with an L-shape, and there is a 1 inch slot in the L.

I've read through some of the posts here since joining, but I can't find any specific info about my roof. Any help is appreciated.
