need opinion on new fuel pump

Postby DrBeavis » Thu May 02, 2019 1:54 am

2005 SE 4x4

i am a test away from determining whether i would need a new fuel pump. as of right now, i would say its a 70% certainty. my mechanic who will be preforming the replacement suggested to stay away from brands line Spectra while confirming that one cannot go wrong with Bosch. so at this point i am looking at Bosch 69907 (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/bch- ... ubmodel/se). any and all opinions on this matter would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Bosch is the OE manufacturer of your Pathfinder's fuel pump, so it should be okay, plus it has a limited-lifetime warranty. You can get the exact same pump at Rockauto.com for about $45 cheaper, however.

hmmm, if Bosch is the OEM for Pathfinder, then perhaps that is not the best way to go since the original crapped out on me shortly after 150K miles. or is that normal? if not, what other fuel pump manufacturers would you suggest? thanks!

I usually prefer OE fuel pumps, however, I might consider Denso. Denso was once a division of Toyota before they split off, similar to how AC Delco was once a division of GM. Denso's part quality seems to be very good and I've never heard of any problems about them.
