The cd player still works. The mod takes over the DVD input. _________________ 2005 Nissan Pathfinder Offroad 4wd

Ok. Mine has the CD/REAR AV on the same button. Is this the same as yours or do I have a different animal? |

LoL. You made me get off the couch to go to the garage to double check. Glad to do it. I would want my question answered quickly also. Internet karma.
Mine has the button that says CD/rear AV. You should be good to go.
I put my 3.5mm jack next to the cigarette lighters. _________________ 2005 Nissan Pathfinder Offroad 4wd

Hey are you guys still here that did this mod? I have an 05, and I've been going crazy looking for something like this. I wasnt about to pay a crazy amount for pretty much a fancy fm mod. I knew this was possible to do but just didnt know how to go about doing it. When i get the harness what wires do i need to wire to each other, I looked at the diagram but honestly i dont understand it. Im just curious if i do decide to take this project on that there is someone here that would be able to answer some questions i may have.
Thanks for your time. |

Thats awesome. Thank you so much, I'm going to check a few local stores to see if the harness is available there, if not ill do a google check and see who has it. I was thinking about buying a 3.5 to 2 female rca cable, cut the 2 female ends off and splice them to the harness instead of having the 2 females from the harness, From my old stereo days i remember the less splices and plug ins the better for sound quality. but i do appreciate your willingness to help me. i will keep you informed as to when i start this project. it should be fairly soon though, thanks again man. |

I would buy the RCA part mentioned at the beginning of the thread and place the 3.5mm somewhere convenient. I placed mine by the lighter sockets. Looks professional and out of the way. _________________ 2005 Nissan Pathfinder Offroad 4wd

I've been looking at your pictures. what you have pictured there is the 3.5jack right? did you run wire from the harness straight to the jack? Today was my day off and i went shopping for the harness with no luck, I'm going to order one online tonight or tomorrow. and ill make a list of parts to pick up from the local radio shack (if they are still open), thanks again |

I bought the 3.5mm jack and just soldered wires to it. From there I just wired it with wire nuts to the modified harness. _________________ 2005 Nissan Pathfinder Offroad 4wd

Very thankful for finding this forum, as I have been yearning to do this to my 2005 LE w/ the Rear AV option. I bought the harness on amazon earlier today but I am lost on which RCA cable to purchase to connect to the harness, i cant find it on Amazon but i found this ??(http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/311PYxQCLuL.jpg) it is a 2 x RCA Male, 1 x 3.5mm Stereo Female, Y-Cable 6-Inch.. I want to get this done this week during finals before our road trip from south Texas to Colorado for break.
if you can let me know what i am missing or where i can get that headphone jack or let me know that i am not missing anything and that i just need to connect that mentioned one above. Thank you for your help! _________________ R. TYLER MORGAN |

|

New member here.
Wonderful site so far.
I bought my 05 Pathfinder LE this summer and was disappointed to learn there was no AUX port. You would think a Bose system would include something so simple.
I have the Bose with 6 disc changer. Love the system except for that one flaw.
I've read the thread and honestly I'm terrified of messing with it.
I saw the one comment that said he had to crank the stereo up to 30 just to get to 15? Is this a common issue? |

|
|
I want to do this project but have a doubt.
On the first picture the cables are all the way to the right but in the diagram of the M46 pins , the 39 and 40 pins are on the left side.
Which side is correct?
Sorry but I'm new to this kind of job.
Thank you all! |
