2008 and later models had an automatic latching feature for the rear hatch that the earlier models didn't.ramiss wrote:Thanks to all for this thread. I found it when searching for ways to solve the SLAM when closing. I had a 2006 Pathfinder that never slammed and the slam on my 2010 was the first thing I noticed as a big change.
Can anyone figure out what they did on the 2006 that could be applied to the later models to solve this?
How did you like the #40? Too much or okay?Brmadsenad wrote:Went with #225 McMaster springs over a year ago, been very happy. I live at 3,500 feet and enjoy skiing, so I was happy to finder a stronger strut for the lift gate. In the summer, it does have a bit of force, but its been fine.
Ordered #40 springs for the glass today. I see that most use the #30 McMaster springs, so I hope I am not being overly aggressive. I'll let you all know how it turns out.
What year is your car? I just put these springs on my 2010 and the threads matched. From reading previous posts I thought all years required new rod ends, but 2010 definitely does not.heckler40 wrote:I got the 9416K148 @ 200lbs. These threads are fine and will NOT match the stock ends. So, I also ordered QTY 4 9416K76. 15 minutes and works amazing!
