4L and N? quick easy question help!

Hello fellow nissan appreciators

Im planning on getting a WD21 pathfinder ('95), and i found a nice one but im not sure if the 4wd is working properly. it shifted from 2h to 4h just fine, and it the 4wd definately engaged.

the shift lever, as you know, is

2h
4h
n
4L

but i couldnt get it to go into N or 4L
i tried shifting in park, but is there anything else that prevents you from shifting?


its an auto, which im not used to, but i figure might be more reliable for my planned uses (though i heard the trans. cooler is garbage) and ive never driven an old school badass truck like a pathfinder before. so this may be a stupid question.

ok, i got it. you have to press down on the lever to get it into N. it just needed a bit of force behind it...

also, the transmissions supposed to be in neutral when you shit the transfer case, not park.

first off put it in nuetral and push down on the shifter and it should go all the way down to 4L lol it took me a month after i got my pathy to figure that out!!!!!!!!!!!!!
