Yeah, but this mod will make your ride even better and it is not intrusive to your stock setup.
You're not helping!!! :P

Right now the first thing on my list is the roof rack cross bars. Why the frack is that optional???

It used to be standard before 2008. I guess lots of people were taking them off anyways to reduce wind noise/increase fuel economy.

My 05 came with them and I've left them on. One time I installed them backwards, and holy were they ever noisy. Definitely follow the directions on them (there is an arrow showing which way they should go).

Man, every time I read one of these threads you guys make me wanto to buy something... Looks like I will be getting my kit soon as well. So the consensus is to set it up for individual pressure adjustment with two separate lines for best handling improvement? I rarey tow anyhting, but very interested to what this set up can do to ride/handling quality - which means that connecting the bags individually would be better. Am I correct with this reasoning?

I originally set mine up with one valve then switched and I agree they perform better separate.

Day and night difference between connected together and separate. Separate is the only way to go.

So I've had my pathfinder over a year. However I was deployed to Afghanistan for 7 months of that year. I bought the airlift 1000 in Feb 2012 but with it being cold and crappy weather I have not installed it.

Well today, It's 60 degrees, sunny and nice. I finally decided I would do the install. Well, I dropped the spare tire. Which come to find out the rim matched my LE rims that I sold 2 months ago. Nice. Well I crawled under to see what I was about to tackle and to my surprise I find this....

Bags. I was shocked. I've always noticed these to air lines but was unsure what they ran to exactly....

The bags were flat and all messed up. I ended up filling up the bags with a 20 psi, and so far they are holding.

This makes me think the previous owner knew about the saggy shocks and had some air bags installed. He/she may have even been a member of this forum once upon a time. I'm going to leave them in for a bit and see if they hold air. However whoever installed the 7 pin did an aftermarket install and it looks like crap...

I'm probably going to buy the wiring harness from Nissan and do it up correctly. Can anyone tell me if the 7 pin kit from Nissan has two plugs? Over where the 4 pin connects there are two plugs, the gray is the 4 pin, and the black had the electric brake wire that the previous person cut out...

Obviously, with changing the rear suspension height, the front/rear weight distribution will be affected slightly. Has anyone checked to see the affect on the wheel alignment in relation to increasing or decreasing the air pressure in the air bags (unloaded conditions)?

so i see on amazon that there's two versions that will fit my '08...
#60783 (14in tall) and #60810 (13in tall).

the OP used 60810 and in doing a quick rescan of the entire thread i didn't see any list that used the 60783 version. is that 1in a big difference, and/or does it help/hurt/etc?

i plan on ordering this in a couple days and doing it soon. all because of these kicka$$ reviews on here about it.

and amazon still has it for $87 with free shipping.

welp, got my airlift in yesterday and i think i'm going to install it later today. i'll take some pics of how i ran the lines and such.

also will be replacing the front rotors and pads. i'm at 53kmi (got it with 23k) and the front shimmys like a mofo. i was thinking about painting the calipers while i'm at it. nothing crazy, most likely just a satin black.

I thought about painting my calipers last week when I installed new front brake pads and rotors. I am still thinking about it now that I know how easy it is to get the parts off. Go for it and save yourself the time of tearing things apart again like I am going to end up doing!
