Can't find this part in UK. Anyone in US willing to help?

Postby Confiteor » Thu Dec 23, 2010 3:57 pm

Hello

The front cover of my roof rail fell off (or was taken) off some time ago, and I'm having a nightmare trying to find a replacement.

It's just the small grey plastic cover that covers the front screws.

It's only a $20 part in the US, but I can't find anywhere in the UK that will sell it on its own. They want me to buy an entire rail.

Here it is: http://www.courtesyparts.com/73155h-end ... 3361.html?

But they are quoting a crazy +$70 to ship to the UK. Doing it privately, I'm sure that could be done for $10 or so. It's a small, light piece of plastic.

My question: would anyone in the US be willing to order and send it to me? I'd obviously send you a few dollars on top of the total cost to thank you for your time.

Here's an image showing the exact part. You'll see why I'm not keen to shell out $100!

If I have time tomorrow, I'll pick it up for you and mail it from the midlands UK. BA keep canceling my flights to Heathrow. You'll have to PM your address etc. I'm now scheduled to fly out tomorrow afternoon - we'll see how that goes.

I lost same plastic in summer when driving about 120-130 km/h.
I got new one from dealer and had to pay 50€ for that ..

I'll be cable tying both sides if I get this replacement. Still suspect it was 'helped' off though while parked in the street...

Sorry mate I tried. The dealership is closed for Christmas eve. When I get back to the US, I'll mail you one over.
Cheers.
