Middle Seat Removal

Postby coachsauer » Sun Aug 28, 2011 9:45 am

I have a question. I am looking at buying an 08 Pathfinder. I was wondering if the middle seat in the second row can be removed completely. If so, how difficult is this process? Thanks for your help!

I have 3 kids and this is the best option. All it takes is removing 4 bolts. It's actually ten times better than with the seat.

This is my answer...works great!

you must have a short wife... when we tried putting our infant seat in the middle row/outside seat, the damn thing pushed the front passenger seat so far forward it was ridiculous... either that or your infant seat is a bit shorter length than ours.

regardless. that middle seat removal looks fantastic. i have to remember this when the family expands.

also, it looks like the smuggler box is actually accessible / useable now!!!

She's a little scrunched, but that's the best placement. The baby seat has to go on the passenger side cause the drivers seat bends backward and rubs. That leaves at least one seat open so the wife can get back there and kick ass if she has to...lol

I too like that the smugglers box is accessible. Good catch MonkeyMike.

That is awesome! I'm thinking a little grey carpet or a universal floormat would complete the look. Might have to try this soon for a 4.5 hour roadtrip where my wife wants to be in the middle row with our infant, and our 3 year old in the back.

That is so weird... My wife has been asking me to remove the mid seat and I been wondering how it would look. Thanks to those who thought the same thing. :D

I ended up doing this with mine as well. It is great for getting kids to the 3rd row. Before we had to lift them over the 3rd row to get in.

Decided to pull the middle seat and everything looks like it'll be much more functional. People will be able to get to the third row relativel easy I have car seats on both sides of second row but with the front sears moved up it should work.

One question Has anyone noticed the exhaust soundinging louder? Seems like this should be normal just wondering if anyone tried to quiet it down. I'll probably throw another floor mat with carpet padding on it to see if that helps.

Didn't seem any louder to me. Even if it was louder I wouldn't put the seat back in.
