TPMS service?

Postby NVSteve » Thu Nov 10, 2011 3:12 pm

A few months ago, I had a problem with the TPMS light coming on & staying on. Checked the pressures in all 4 tires & they were well above the OEM pressure. Took it to Nissan for a cheapo oil change & had them check the TPMS. They fixed the problem & told me they just put more air in the tires (around 44psi). As of a couple weeks ago, my TPMS light has been on again, although the tires all at 44psi.

My question is, if you were in my situation, would you take it to Nissan? Or somewhere else (Firestone, etc.)? I don't even know if the TPMS falls under any of the warranty terms & if it does, which one. I could personally care less that the light is on, but I need to get it fixed before my safety inspection/renewal in a couple months.

Ideas? Suggestions?
