Smaller Tires on an R51?

Postby Geo1 » Fri Nov 11, 2011 12:29 pm

Hi - After gobs of searching with not really finding (or at least recognizing if I found something), I think it is time to ask the experts...so here goes:

I have a 2010 4WD Pathfinder (S), was just deployed to eastern europe and discovered the host country requires snow tires (yes, I am from Texas, so it took me a minute to even understand what those are...ha). At any rate, with the requirement, the local companies charge near $300USD for a single tire.

BUT...discovered the APO (post office) will deliver tires easily, but the standard 16" tire (245/75/16) is a couple inches too large and won't ship.

So: Is there a 15" wheel that will fit (safely) a 2010 Pathy? Or, what is the smallest tire one can squeeze on the 16"?

Thanks in advance!!!

Okay - so there isn't really an answer. Lacking that, what is the smallest tire that will fit on a pathfinder S 4x4 with stock 16" rims?

15" wont fit with the brake galiper...
need 16"
smaller tire mean not the same rpm that you realy do, so false speed display in dash and some country don't accept more than 3% accuracy over or under OEM.
use a tire calculator to know the range
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

and this one tell you the dimension of tires.
