Grounding Kits

Postby Gray » Thu Mar 20, 2008 6:18 pm

Do any here have experience with grounding kits? I see Stillen, WRP and others supply these for the PF and some Frontier forum posters say they have seen improvements in things like headlight brightness, throttle response and smoother idle. Thanks.

If you look at the installation PDFs on these you can make one of these yourself with supplys available at a stereo shop/hardware store eBay for 1/4 the price.

With this kind of stuff I never take a reviewer at their word. The claims of improvement are subjective claims and sound like the same claims I see in audio with people buying a $500 or more A/C power cable for a CD player. If it worked so well a couple of simple tests could verify it (measure the headlamp brightness). The claim is that manufacturers don't properly ground the electronics in a vehicle?

I used a shielded copper wire with a grounding lug to ground my radio chassis to the PF frame. Though there are already smaller grounding wires installed by Nissan, I wanted something a little more reassuring.
