My parents had them on their 2005 Chevy Tahoe and they didn't last to their mileage they promote. Could have been the vehicle, but they are very routine on rotation and regular maintenance.

I used to run them on my previous Dodge (they may have just been the Open Country AT, not the latest version) and they did a good job. IIRC I got about 50k miles out of them but have rarely gotten advertised mileage from a tire because the warranty is good down to 2/32nds and I toss tires long before that.

That being said I switched to Cooper as my "off-brand" tires many years ago and find them to be better in most cases, a little cheaper, and made in US. I've run the Discoverer series with good results on my Tundra and Silverado. I've got Michelins on my PF now, but will have to replace before winter and I'm seriously considering the Cooper this time around. Michelin has been great but I wore them out prematurely due to alignment issues that I just can't get straightened out on this thing. If I'm going to rip the insides off the tires it might as well be something considerably cheaper.

Thanks for the input! My favorite tire has to be the BFG T/A KO but I'm just not a fan of the price. My brother is running them on his Tacoma and has nothing but good things to say about them.

Anyone know if a 275 will fit on a pathfinder? I was looking at the 265/65-18 but a 275 seems to bee considerably cheaper...just wondering if here is any rubbing issues with that size?

I also went with Coopers new AT3 tire. I like them quite a bit and have had good experiences with them.

I may look at the cooper. We have a plant here in town and I haven't ever heard anything good about cooper, evn my friends that work out there don't use their tires...go figure. I work for the city here in town and cooper gives all city employees a nice discount in the tires so I believe I'll have a look at them!

I guess if I worked for a company that I had no faith in their product....I would have to ask myself why I'm working there. My buddy owns a tire shop and sells gobs of Coopers and runs them on all his vehicles. He's the one that convinced me to try them and I've never had complaints. He's also a Michelin, Bridgestone, and Goodyear dealer but he says $ for $ the cooper is the best bang for the buck.

Your friends could be like many mechanics...all they see are problems so they don't think there are any good vehicles out there. But they obviously don't see the ones that run perfect! Maybe they see a lot of defective tires come back...and think it is the majority and not the minority. Maybe it is the majority..who knows. I wasn't aware cooper had a plant in TX. Not listed on their website.

I've been reading a couple reviews on that particular tire and everyone seems to love it. On the plus side they have $100 in rebates on that tire. Lol I guess of something does go wrong with the tire I can just march right now to the factory where it was made!

I just put a new set of open country A/T II on my truck and love them. Will try to put a picture up. I went one size bigger and I have no suspension mods. 265/65/r18. I had them on my previous SUV and would not get a different tire.

How well does the 265-65 fit, is there any running issues?

None. Should have probably gone 1 size taller.
