Winter Tires / Rims and Tire Pressure Monitor

Postby gear1975 » Tue Oct 09, 2012 8:26 am

Hi all,

I have a 2006 PF with the "Low Tire Pressure Warning Light". I'm assuming that I have a TPMS in all my factory rims.

My question is, if I get a set of winter tires that are mounted on separate rims for ease of use at the beginning and end of winter, do I need to get TPMS sensors in these rims? I know it's an option when I buy them (an expensive one), but if I passed on getting them, will it damage my TPMS at all? Will it just "work" once I re-install the stock rims after winter?

Thanks!

HAHA!

So, it doesn't affect the system at all, but the light will be lit. Got it!

Thanks!
